Like any other sane person in this world who enjoys spending countless hours shopping for things they don't really need, Target is likely your sanctuary. You go in expecting to grab a few makeup items and a family size bag of chips for yourself and emerge from the smoke with two armfuls of groceries, clothes and very possibly a stack of discount DVDs. It's okay. It happens to the best of us.
On my last trip to Target I did just that. My mother and I went to grab Super Bowl snacks and of course clothing caught my eye. Despite its alternative and preferred pronunciation, Tar-jhay is far from haute couture, but you best believe there will always be at least one clothing item that is coming home with meeee! In this case, Target's collection with the fashion media publication Who What Wear is easily the best thing next to Rihanna's latest Fenty X Puma runway show. Okay, I'm exaggerating but damn these Target buys were good!
My favorite pick by far are these track pants. If you haven't caught on, track suits are making a comeback to the delight of Juicy Couture velour fans everywhere. Velvet and other materials are up to bat, vying for their spot on the runway (cue this Fenty X Puma look I'll most certainly be buying come release), but the side stripe track pant is soaring to the top of the pack.
These were only $30! And thanks to the style prowess that is Who What Wear, they do not disappoint, holding their own against their luxury siblings. I'm still on the athleisure train and love that I can sport these for an elevated lounge look with sneakers and a hoodie or take it the other way with heels and juuuuussssstttt a little sex appeal 😉.
My only complaint? Length. But that's the Target price you pay, my friends.
Have I told you all about the ASOS online outlet. Yes? At least five times you say? Well let me tell you once more for good measure.
Seriously. Go to ASOS right now and buy some sale items. ASOS is one of the only online retailers that I trust over half the time to deliver the style and right fit. Their full price selection is RIDICULOUS and you can expect the same for sale items. This duster jacket ran me only $20 and literally says: take me to bed you fool. What are you waiting for?
And just in time for International Women's Day, another reason to show off my favorite ink. The lady who's home is my spine is Hatshepsut, the second historically confirmed female pharaoh of Ancient Egypt who was as badass as she was regal. Long story short: Hatshepsut was not intended to have power, but once she ascended the throne she held on to it for 22 years of prospetity — the longest reign of any woman in Ancient Egypt. She is considered one of the most successful pharaohs of all time and exactly why every misogynist can EAT IT.
If you ever needed a new face of feminism: look no further baby.
How are you honoring International Women's Day?
